Frankfurt, July 31, 2025 – Orrön Energy, a Swedish publicly listed Company, has entered into an agreement to sell a 76 MWp Agri-PV project located in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany, to Saxovent Renewables, a German family-office investor specializing in renewables. Capcora acted as the exclusive M&A advisor to Orrön Energy, leading a streamlined transaction process.
The transaction highlights the continued evolution of the Agri-PV segment in Germany, which is gaining momentum and moving from niche to mainstream within the renewable energy space. By combining agricultural use with solar energy production, Agri-PV projects represent an increasingly attractive asset class for investors focused on long-term, sustainable returns.
“This transaction with a long-term-oriented investor like Saxovent Renewables reinforces our belief in the strategic relevance of Agri-PV within our German greenfield portfolio” said Daniel Fitzgerald, CEO at Orrön Energy. “Agri-PV plays a key role in our development strategy in Germany and reflects our long-term commitment to the energy transition in this region, underscoring the market’s interest in such projects.”
Saxovent Renewables emphasized the long-term opportunity presented by the asset class:
“With this acquisition, we are securing an early-stage project with great potential in the agri-PV segment. This aligns with our goal of being active in all key areas of renewable energy,” said Thorsten Freise, CEO of Saxovent Renewables. “In particular, the combination of agricultural use and energy generation is a central component for land-use efficiency and the social acceptance of the energy transition on a local level.”
Capcora successfully closed the transaction within just 16 weeks from process launch to signing, highlighting the efficiency of the process and the project’s market appeal.
“We are proud to have advised Orrön Energy on this landmark Agri-PV transaction,” commented Jochen Magerfleisch, Managing Partner at Capcora. “The project’s advanced status and strategic location made it an attractive opportunity in a rapidly evolving segment. The short timeline from mandate to signing demonstrates the effectiveness of a focused and competitive transaction approach.”
