Jochen Magerfleisch

Managing Partner
Jochen is a passionate renewable energy veteran with extensive management experience in medium-sized and large companies. His career spans roles with industry-leading project developers and manufacturers, focusing on energy transition and project development. At Capcora, he is a key member of the management team and leads the company’s M&A strategy

Capcora has been mandated as exclusive M&A adviser for the intended sale of renewable energy project rights held by SoWiTec Operation GmbH and related companies of the SOWITEC Group. The mandate was awarded by the creditors’ committee following a proposal by insolvency administrator Dr. Holger Leichtle, Partner at GÖRG. The mandate covers approximately 32 GW of wind project rights across Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico. Around 330 MW relate to projects in Germany. Capcora will coordinate the corporate M&A process and act as the central point of contact for investor communication.

Founded in 1993, SOWITEC is a long-standing renewable energy developer with global activities in wind and solar project development. Its work spans site identification, planning, permitting and project structuring. The SOWITEC Group filed for insolvency in July 2026. The proceedings concern SOWITEC group GmbH, SOWITEC international GmbH, SOWITEC operation GmbH and SOWITEC projekt GmbH.

Capcora’s role includes preparing transaction materials, approaching investors, coordinating the bidding process and supporting due diligence as well as commercial and contractual discussions. The aim is to channel investor communication through a structured route and support the insolvency administrator and creditors’ committee in preserving value across the portfolio.

“This mandate brings together a complex insolvency situation and a sizeable international renewable energy portfolio,” said Jochen Magerfleisch, Managing Partner at Capcora. “Following the successful completion of numerous transactions for the insolvency administration of the eno Group, this is another important mandate for us in the field of distressed assets. Our role is to provide clear process leadership, manage investor communication and help preserve value across the portfolio. SOWITEC has built a strong project base in Germany and several international markets, and we will approach the process with focus, speed and discipline.”
